If you haven’t managed to visit the latest Lusaka shopping hotspot, do make time. It opened its doors on Thursday November 24th and at 30,000m², it is Zambia’s largest mixed-use development and first fully enclosed mall. Named after our third president, the late Levy Mwanawasa, Levy Junction is a place where people can shop, play, eat and work.
The mall contains 72 stores (97 percent of which are let) and boasts many well known names including Woolworths (which contains a small Woolies Food section), Edgars, Truworths, Foschini, Mr Price, Totalsports, Nine West, Guess, Jets, Exact and Levi. On the food front, shoppers can refuel their tired bodies at the Food Lover’s Market, KFC, King Pie, Mugg & Bean, Steers and Wimpy. For those of you who need to grocery shop there is also a Pick n Pay. Nearby is a four-storey office block and a Southern Sun StayEasy hotel with 104 compact, stylish rooms.
This US$ 200 million development has been financed by Zambia’s National Pension Scheme Authority (NAPSA) who partnered with Liberty Properties as the developer. It is expected to create over 1,000 jobs.
Levy Junction is situated at the intersection of Church and Kabelenga roads in Lusaka. Happy shopping and until next time, ciao from us all.
